Greetings, my friends:
It is my prayer that as we move into 2009 we each pause and ground into ourselves the higher part of our nature. When times are as stressful as they have been recently, and we hear so much bad news, we need to pause and counteract it in some way. I have a couple of suggestions.
First, find a book of prayers, poems, or reflections that you enjoy and a couple of friends. Read aloud to one another. Pick five or so of your favorites and begin to read them together. Let each person offer a creative thought, or the words of a song that touches them, and hold a few seconds of silence and feel the vibration of the poem within you.
I have a deep appreciation for a book entitled, “Love Poems from God,” that was given to me by a friend. It is a compilation by Daniel Ladinsky. Published by the Penguin Group, it is a good example of something one could use. But the point is that you enjoy it.
We are working on nurturing positive thinking to offset the negative you might hear. Now it does not hurt to hear and be mindful of the distortion of the world, if you do not let it inside. But not everyone can fight this well, so you must put into your diet enough positive to balance it out.
Listening to beautiful Christmas Carols is uplifting, unless you bring personal pain into the picture, then it stirs up the residue, which you can skim off by doing Positive Affirmations:
I am Love; I am Love Divine;
I rejoice in the love that comes to me and
I send love to the world around me.
I am color and sound, joy and beauty.
I resonate the highest and finest in me
out to those around me; I send out love.
Make up your own words as you drive, or take a walk. Just understand that you are a bell with its own tone, and you are vibrating out to the world positive energy to bring healing to the collective, who can be getting discouraged.
Remember, Yes, We Can and do.
Love to you.
One last comment: Charles choose to get us another puppy for Christmas and it is the most opposite to any dog we have ever had. She is lovely, a very sweet disposition and a ball of fluff. She is about 8 weeks old and our dearly loved Deva has not welcomed her very nicely, but we are hoping Holly’s charm will win Deva over.
Friends, meet Holly:

Our baby is named Holly and is about 12 weeks old now and is trying to rule the roost. So daily we meet our challenges but we love her. She is like a child, sweet and adorable whenever sleeping. She is learning to walk on a leash and is at the chew everything stage. We are looking for a more quiet young lady to emerge out of this bundle of energy in due time. Glad to hear from you, Lynne. I went to see Grace today and she is great…truly at a very good place. love, Carol
