The true Heart of Christianity is preserved in the esoteric teaching that waits behind the exoteric, and not many people understand this. There is an entire vein of reality enclosed within the message of the Christ that is missed by most.

Sorting out the gnosis from the fiction has been the work for real Christians for centuries, and now as esoteric ideas are surfacing for those ready, great progress can be made. The dream wizard of the past is today’s psychologist; the ritualist is the high priest; and the psychic is the shaman of long ago. The mystic is all of these.

Sancta Sophia, through our ministry/teaching, is trying to present this inner message to as many as are interested, both through our on-campus classes and our online offerings. Gaining access to the inner nature prepares each us to be ready to do the work of the soul. Do you feel this call? Writing an online course has forced me to grow in ways I needed to. The really good news, I believe, is that we have been able to put this material together with the help of wonderful donors who have supported our endeavor. Now we have made the online course into a “notebook” course as well. I almost called this a correspondence course, but it is more than that. The notebook of material is available through our Village Bookstore, and each student has a choice of whether or not they want to work with a mentor. Though the inner work can be done alone, we have several mentors who work with individuals and offer feedback and guidance on assignments and questions. Of course, as the author, I am prejudiced and believe doing the assignments with a mentor is the way to go, plus you can earn credits.

My journey, as has many others, began with a Near Death Experience. A great change occurred for me within the context of that event and I returned to daily life with a new awareness and a sense of assignment. I was 23 years old and had no idea there was more to life than contemporary day to day existence. I spent even more years trying to reconcile the inner awareness with my outer perception.

In due time, a teacher appeared and helped me anchor what my soul knew to the reasons for life in the material plane. I raised a family, got an education, held a job and bits and pieces of the puzzle came together. I know each of us is more than the story we tell about ourselves and I have a strong sense of wanting to help others find that connection.

My assignment is to prepare teachers that can help humanity move through the changing of the ages, be wise and compassionate, teach and comfort others as they become ready for their awakening.
